Taylor Fritz of the United States tussles with big-serving Giovanni Perricard of France in the third round of the 2025 Shanghai Masters on Sunday.

Fresh off an escape act against Fabian Marozsan in the second round, 2-6 7-6, 7-6, Fritz looks to book another round-of-16 stint at the Shanghai Masters against arguably the hardest serving player in tennis today, Perricard. After a victorious campaign at Laver Cup, Fritz salvaged four impressive wins before bowing to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the 2025 Japan Open. Fritz improved his hard-court record to 31-11 and overall record to 50-18 overall in 2025.
Perricard advanced to the third round of the 2025 Shanghai Masters following 6-3, 7-6 win over Luca Nardi of Italy in the second round. The Frenchman launched 11 aces and won 41 points behind the first ball to hold all except one service game played. Perricard also broke Nardi twice, which was enough to get the edge in this matchup.
