Taylor Fritz of the United States will take on the up-and-coming Gabriel Diallo of Canada in a fascinating second-round clash at the 2025 Wimbledon Open.

Fritz hopes he’s still got the stamina to survive another uphill battle in an already challenging campaign at Wimbledon. Fritz rallied from two sets down by raising the level of his play in the final 3 sets, most importantly in the deciding set, where the Stuttgart and Eastbourne champion imposed his will in the match. Fritz finished the match without conceding a service break. He captured 92 points off the first serves and broke Perricard twice.

Diallo delivered a master stroke of a performance against Daniel Altmaier 6-1 6-2 6-4 to earn his first main draw win at Wimbledon Open. Diallo, who ruled the Libema Open three weeks ago and reached the quarterfinal of the Mallorca Championship days before the hostilities at All-England Club, displayed boundless energy in his first-round clash with Altmaier, outclassing the German with exquisite winners and tremendous ball coverage. Diallo scored 33 points on the first serves and added 21 on the second to win all except one of the 13 service games played.
