The Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues will renew their rivalry in a Central Division matchup on Friday at American Airlines Center.
The Stars return home after visiting the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night. While Dallas beat the Boston Bruins 6-2 in the last home game, things have not gone well for Glen Gulutzan's men lately. Entering the Boston game, the Stars had lost 10 of their last 12 outings.
Gulutzan's team has been vulnerable in defense, and there have been some serious issues at the other end of the ice as well. Before putting six pucks past the Bruins, Dallas had scored just once in each of the previous three games.
The Blues began the week with a 3-1 road loss to the Winnipeg Jets. Jordan Kyrou scored a power-play goal in the second period, but St. Louis struggled to create scoring chances all night. It was the same in their previous game, as the Edmonton Oilers shut out Jim Montgomery's team in a 5-0 win.
St. Louis is now in danger of having its second three-game losing streak of the calendar year. To avoid it, the team must replicate its early-season effort against Dallas. With Jordan Binnungton in top form inside the blue paint, St. Louis beat Dallas 3-1 on Oct. 18.

The chances of the under hitting may be further boosted by the fact that the Blues are without their top scorer, Robert Thomas, due to injury, and it's unclear whether Dallas' star man, Mikko Rantanen, will take the ice.
