It has been a demanding conference schedule for the South Carolina Gamecocks, and it is not going to get easier this weekend when they travel to Oxford, MS, to face the Ole Miss Rebels at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.

The Gamecocks have faced an impossible conference schedule. They opened SEC play with a loss to Vanderbilt before the Commodores moved into the top 25. Of their other five conference games, four were against ranked teams (which they lost) and one against a non-ranked team (vs. Kentucky, which they won). Part of the problem has been a lack of production on the offensive side of the ball; they scored 10 points or less in three of their losses and rank among the worst in the country in total yards (125th), rushing yards (121st), passing yards (100th), and scoring (114th). Their defense is pretty good, but with little to no help from the offense, there is only so much they can do.

As usual, with Lane Kiffin as the head coach, Ole Miss has a top ten passing game with the talented Trinidad Chambliss at QB. Their defense has been good enough against most teams, but the Rebels have had trouble against the run (97th).
