Former Grand Slam champion Sofia Kenin of the United States will face Rebeka Masarova of Switzerland in the first round of the 2025 Berlin Ladies Open.
Kenin qualified for the main draw of the Berlin Ladies Open by going through the qualifiers, beating Erika Andreeva 6-4 6-0 and Ajla Tomljanovic 5-7 6-4 7-5. Kenin, who owns 23-13 record on grass, has one grass court title under her belt, having won the Mallorca Open title in 2019.
Masarova also secured her spot in the main draw of this tournament as a qualifier. Masarova defeated Maria Sakkari 7-6(1) 7-5 and then Ella Seidel 7-5 6-1 to arrange a first-round clash with Kenin. The Swiss owns a 26-15 record in the 2025 WTA season and a 10-10 record on grass.
