Novak Djokovic of Serbia will shoot for his 34th Grand Slam final on Friday when he tussles with the world’s No.1 Jannik Sinner in the semis of the men’s singles tournament at the 2025 French Open.
In the rematch of this year’s Australian Open semis, no injury prevented Djokovic from outlasting Zverev in four sets 4-6 6-3 6-2 6-4. The Serb was masterful right after conceding the first set, bombarding Zverev with 40 winners and applying enough pressure to force him to commit 43 unforced errors. Djokovic, who improved his head-to-head record with Zverev to 9-5, will now set his sights on a return ticket to the final of Roland Garros against the world’s No.1 himself, Jannik Sinner.
Sinner booked his spot in the semifinals with another terrific win over Alexander Bublik 6-1 7-5 6-0, becoming the only semifinalist at this year’s Roland Garros without dropping a set. Sinner’s impeccable shot-making and court coverage left Bublik with only a few options to counter and make the match competitive. Despite his gallant stand in the second set, Bublik still stood no chance as Sinner ended the Kazakh’s career run at the 2025 French Open with a 6-0 bagel in the third set.

Our Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic Prediction
Why you should bet on Jannik Sinner to cover -6.5 games (Win $125 on a $100 Bet): Sinner’s sustained dominance in this year’s French Open is a scary sight for his opponents, whether they admit it or not. After five matches at Roland Garros, Sinner has been taken to a tiebreaker only once, and it happened in the third set of his second-round match against Corentin Moutet. By the way, he crushed Moutet in that tiebreaker 7-1. Djokovic deserves a ton of credit for making it this far in the competition despite playing at 38 years old. His latest win over Zverev shows that there is still a lot left in the tank of the 24-time Grand Slam winner, who last hoisted the title at Roland Garros in 2023. Djokovic and Sinner are 5-5 in 10 head-to-head matches, with the Italian winning the last 5. Although this is their first clay-court match since 2021, I believe that Sinner’s rapid improvement on clay over the past few years makes him a formidable opponent for anyone, including Alcaraz. We saw how Sinner obliterated the two-time French Open champion Casper Ruud in the quarterfinal of the Rome Masters in only his fourth match off a three-month doping ban. Djokovic will surely present the biggest test for Sinner in this tournament, but I feel that his age and the widening gap in skills between him and Sinner will be put into focus in this match.
