Jannik Sinner of Italy will try to inch closer to another title at the US Open on Monday, when he goes up against Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan in the round of 16.

Most bookmakers, including DraftKings, have booked Sinner, a four-time Grand Slam winner, as the heavy favorite at -1400 against Bublik, the only man not named Carlos Alcaraz to defeat the Italian this year.

Sinner is on the right track to repeat as the US Open champion after putting on a show of force through the first three rounds. The Italian kicked off his title defense with an emphatic win over Vit Kopriva 6-1 6-1 6-2. He followed it up with another three-set demolition of Alexei Popyrin 6-3 6-2 6-2 before quashing an upset bid from Denis Shapovalov in the third round 5-7 6-4 6-3 6-3. Sinner is 34-4 in the season and 15-1 on the hard court in 2025.

Bublik reached the fourth round of the US Open for the first time in his career after outlasting Tommy Paul 7-6(5) 6-7(4) 6-3 6-7(5) 6-1 in the third round. Bublik, who decided to skip several marquee tournaments leading up to the US Open, has won his last 11 matches, 8 of which were earned during his back-to-back title run at the Gstaad Open and Generali Open. Bublik is 8-7 on the hard court in 2025.
