Swedish club Malmo FF seems to have done the hard work by taking a comfortable lead in the first leg of the final at Eleda Stadion (3-0) last Thursday. Striker Sead Haksabanovic scored twice before midfielder Lasse Johnsen sealed the 3-0 victory with a penalty in added time (90+2). Sigma Olomouc has no time to lose in the second leg and will need to stage a major comeback if it hopes to compete in the Europa League group stage. Sixth in the Czech league (out of 16 teams), Sigma Olomouc is struggling with three defeats in four games away to Sparta Prague (1-0), Malmo FF (3-0) and Hradec Kralove (1-0) this weekend. At home, Janotka's side has won its last two games against Liberec (2-1) and Zlin (1-0).

Malmö FF, third in the Allsvenskan, has not lost since its two heavy defeats against Mjallby (1-3) and Copenhagen (5-0) in the Champions League qualifying round semi-final second leg on August 9 and 12. Since then, Rydstrom's men have recorded two big wins at Halmstad (0-4) and against Sigma Olomouc (3-0), followed by a draw against Gothenburg (0-0) on Sunday. With eight goals scored and eight conceded in their last five games, Malmo FF have been scoring and conceding a lot of goals in recent weeks. Malmo FF will still need to be wary of a Czech side that will be looking to bounce back.
