Serbia and Puerto Rico are headed into a virtual do-or-die match on Wednesday after losing both their Group B matches in the 5x5 men’s basketball competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Serbia will try to bounce back from a 110-88 humiliation handed to them by arguably the best team in the tournament, Team USA, on the opening night of the competition. Nikola Jokic, who recorded 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists, is expected to lead his Serbian side against a tough and scrappy Puerto Ricans, who are still licking their wounds after their getting upset by South Sudan, 79-90. Puerto Rico is making a return in Olympic basketball after several years of absence. However, their first game in Paris saw them being on the wrong end of history as South Sudan registered their first-ever win in Olympic men’s basketball. Jose Alvarado poured in 26 points in his Olympic debut, while Tremont Waters added 18 for the Puerto Ricans.
