On Monday evening, there's more Major League Soccer playoff action coming our way. At Lumen Field, the Sounders and the Loons will lock horns having been deadlocked at 0-0 in the first in this best-of-three series. At Allianz Field in the first game, the Loons huffed and puffed, but they struggled to break down a strong Seattle unit, while the visitors, creative as they can be, were not at their best in terms of end-product.
Brian Schmetzer's postseason experts did get the job done on penalties, meaning that they can wrap the series up in front of home crowd. They certainly have the overall quality and playoff nous to get the job done, but we shouldn't be surprised if they do so in less than explosive style.

We've certainly seen some action-packed, high-scoring games in the postseason so far, but goals may not arrive in any great amount at Lumen Field, where the Sounders are just about as good as anyone at keeping things nice and low-key. We saw Schmetzer's men grind it out on the road in the first game of the series, and they will likely take a similar approach here, which leaves me to conclude that goals are slightly less likely than the early odds suggest.
After all, only one of Seattle's last three games has contained more than a single goal, while that first game really was devoid of final-third quality.
