Two teams outside the Western Conference's top seven but with the potential to be there, the Seattle Sounders and the Houston Dynamo, face each other on Saturday at Lumen Field.

For Ben Olsen's team, the start of 2025 has been somewhat discouraging, as they have only managed one point out of a possible 12 and lost both matches they played at Shell Energy Stadium against Inter Miami and Real Salt Lake, conceding four goals in the first and two in the second. In MLS, only Toronto FC and Orlando City have conceded more goals than the Houston Dynamo's eight.

However, for Seattle Sounders, the result of 5-2 in favor against Los Angeles FC remains the only high score for the team this season, which, in addition to having conceded 7 goals in 4 games, also in Mexico lost 1-4 against Cruz Azul, thus being eliminated from the Concacaf Champions League.
