On Wednesday, in Miami, Scotland and Brazil will come together in a game that is hugely important for both. To have a chance of topping the group, the Brazilians need to win, while the Scots need a positive result to ensure that they go through without relying on other teams.
After securing their first ever World Cup win, the Scots were expected to put up a fight against Morocco, but they failed to do that and are now looking to keep their knockout dreams alive by getting something off Brazil, which seems unlikely.
To be honest, the signs from the Scottish last time out were not positive, and they did not play as if they could seriously hurt the Brazilians. Betting on ‘Brazil to Win & Under 3.5 Goals’ appeals most.

Scotland - Brazil: Form Analysis
It was always going to be hard for the Scots to upset a very strong Moroccan team, a team that can control games and really frustrate opponents by starving them of possession. After the worst possible start in that game, conceding inside the first two minutes, the Tartan Army looked scared, failing to have much meaningful possession for much of the first half, before struggling to make the most of better spells on the ball in the second half. In truth, it was a toothless effort from a team lacking in offensive ideas.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men should now have more than enough about them to get the better of a Scottish side that is probably in waters a little too deep.
After tying with the Moroccans first time out, and growing into the game after falling behind, the Brazilians delivered a decent effort against Haiti, winning by three goals to zero, building some important momentum whilst also maintaining freshness by not overdoing it. Carlo Ancelotti’s men should now have more than enough about them to get the better of a Scottish side that is probably in waters a little too deep.

Scotland & Brazil Squad Analysis
If Steve Clark really wants to see his team deliver an improved performance, then he’ll have to make a few changes, one of which should see Ben Gannoon-Doak come into the starting XI. The speedy Bournemouth youngster is arguably Scotland’s only player who can really cause teams problems by taking opponents on with the ball at his feet. Lawrence Shankland could also return in an effort to increase the offensive productivity.
Having started his first game of the tournament against Haiti, scoring twice, Matheus Cunha is expected to spearhead the Brazilian offense.
Will Carlo Ancelotti look to make changes here? Well, for starters, Raphinah, who went off injured last time out, will need to be replaced. Rayan deputized from the bench last time out and could feature from the outset. Having started his first game of the tournament against Haiti, scoring twice, Matheus Cunha is expected to spearhead the Brazilian offense.

Our Scotland vs Brazil Prediction
The Scots showed a clear unwillingness to open up and play against Morocco, while they also lack the quality to really go for it in any meaningful way, so it’s far from out of the question that the Brazilian deliver a similar effort to the one that saw them brush Haiti aside, whilst also holding back a fair bit for tougher assignments. With this in mind, betting on a relatively low-scoring win for Ancelloti’s men is hard to avoid at odds of +105.
