Only Querétaro had a worse start to the new season than Santos Laguna in Liga MX, and the Torreón team is coming off the worst Apertura tournament in its history, mired in a sporting and institutional crisis in which, last season, they only collected 7 points from 17 matches. However, there is no such thing as relegation in Liga MX, and Santos will want, at the very least, to avoid finishing in the bottom three of this Apertura tournament. However, after their pleasing debut, where they won 3-0 against Pumas, they resumed their string of unfavorable results, losing two consecutive Liga MX matches and three consecutive Leagues Cup matches.
Santos returns to Mexico to continue its Liga MX campaign and will face Guadalajara at Estadio Corona, but even playing at home, betting sites don't give Santos a 50% chance of drawing that match.
Santos lost by one goal against Colorado and Seattle but had a disastrous defensive performance in their last match against the LA Galaxy, conceding their first goal in the first minute. The Galaxy won that game 4-0, employing a repeated play that Guadalajara could copy: breaking down the wing and delivering a creeping pass.
