Two MLS teams that have had a promising start to the season clash at PayPal Park on Sunday when the San Jose Earthquakes face the Seattle Sounders, with pre-match odds fairly even.

San Jose is still managed by Bruce Arena, the same coach who led them to a strong start in the 2025 season before they faltered and failed to even reach the playoffs. However, the team appears to be peaking in 2026. In the Western Conference, only they and San Diego kept three clean sheets and won all three matches.

Ousseni Bouda, from Burkina Faso, has been a prolific striker this season. Including preseason games, he has played six games for San Jose since February 7. He scored the game-winning goal against the Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park and one against Atlanta United in Major League Soccer.
