San Jose Earthquakes welcome Minnesota United to PayPal Park for their MLS Western Conference match. While the Quakes are still in prime position to qualify for a Round One place, their recent form has been woeful. San Jose have lost five of their last six matches, including three straight defeats. In fact, the Quakes have won just one of their last 12 matches and need a sharp return to form if they're to stamp their place in the top 7. They're up against Minnesota United who, despite sitting in 11th place in the Western Conference standings, will have hopes of qualifying for at least a Wild Card spot. They've been inconsistent of late, though, winning one and drawing three of their last six in all competitions. They head into this one on the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Atlanta United.
The Quakes' home form isn't particularly breathtaking, winning four, losing four and drawing two of their 10 MLS games at PayPal Park. Minnesota have an identical away record with four wins, four defeats and two draws away from Allianz Field.
This makes this fixture an intriguing one, certainly in terms of our prediction. We think this has a draw written all over it. Neither side have particuarly impressed of late to suggest either could do enough to take all three points. A point apiece seems the most likely outcome.
