Bruce Arena's San Jose Earthquakes look set to have a strong season after winning their first two games, and not conceding a goal other than a penalty in the process. The performance at PayPal Park was incredibly good with 4 different players scoring in the 4-0 rout of Real Salt Lake and they did all that by giving away the ball and having only 37% possession in their first game.

Then, in Kansas City, Colombian Arango had an excellent game in the 2-1 victory scoring the first goal as early as the 3rd minute. It is the first time since 2017 that San Jose Earthquakes have managed to add 6 points in their first two MLS games. Again at PayPal Park the betting remains even for the third game of the season against Minnesota United.

Arena praised his team's defensive ability that maintained the advantage with one man less after Lopez was sent off with a double yellow card.
