Friday's game between the Dodgers and Giants was tremendously emotional, as it was Kershaw's final outing as a regular-season starter at Dodger Stadium. The veteran of a long and successful MLB career went out on a high, pitching 4.1 innings of two ER and striking out 6, while showcasing his signature wicked 12-6 curveball.
This series began Thursday in an absolute pitching game in which the two teams only had two hits and in which the Dodgers won 2-1, with Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman driving in those two runs.
The Dodgers also managed to take Game 2, in what is a near-definitive blow to the Giants' playoff hopes.
Just like in September 2024, Ohtani is having a tremendous home run streak; Last year around this time, he had a multi-homer series in Miami that brought him closer to his final milestone of 54 HRs in 2024. With Pages and Hernandez on board, Ohtani hit his 52nd home run of the year and, with eight games left, is poised to match or better his previous season's performance. In more positive news for Roberts, Mookie also hit his 20th HR of the year.

But Glasnow has also had a positive September; on the 8th, he pitched seven innings, a no-hitter against Colorado with 11 strikeouts, and allowed only one ER when facing those same Giants in San Francisco in his previous outing.
