The San Francisco Giants and LA Dodgers are set to clash on Sunday night in the decisive game of a three-game set at Dodger Stadium, with first place in the NL West on the line. The Giants are sending out lefty Kyle Harrison, who’s still trying to find his rhythm in the majors this season. The 23-year-old southpaw has split his time between the rotation and bullpen, making four starts and four relief appearances.
On the other side, Dustin May will take the mound for the Dodgers. His last outing was rough — six runs allowed over five innings against San Diego — but May has the stuff to rebound, especially at home. He’ll face a San Francisco offense that’s been hot and cold but capable of putting up runs in bunches, as shown in the series opener.
While both teams are fighting for early summer positioning, there’s an underlying postseason atmosphere in this matchup. The NL West is shaping up to be a tightly contested race, and every head-to-head win counts.
