The NL West continues as hot as it began, and although the Dodgers have already taken the expected lead, the Padres, Giants, and D-backs are in the middle of a fierce battle for wild-card spots. The Giants and D-backs face off in the desert. Wednesday's Game 3 will feature Roupp pitching for one side and Merrill Kelly for Arizona, who has a healthy 7-4 record as a starter in 2025.
However, some of the biggest stars on both teams will be out due to injuries. The D-backs placed Carroll on the 10-Day IL, which is a major blow for them, but Naylor is also day-to-day. The Giants, meanwhile, also have Chapman and Schmitt on the 10-Day IL list, so they'll have to improvise a stubborn base.
