San Francisco 49ers vs Philadelphia Eagles Prediction & Picks - NFL

Sunday afternoon in South Philadelphia, the crowd will be rowdy and loud for the visiting San Francisco 49ers (12-5). The Philadelphia Eagles (11-6) will play hosts, once again, in what they hope will be a repeat of the 2022 NFC Championship Game. The Eagles came out on top in that previous meeting, 31-7.

In typical San Francisco fashion, their season was filled with injuries to key players throughout the regular season. To the credit of Kyle Shanahan, he was able to keep his team motivated and finished with a 12-win season in what was arguably the toughest division in football this season. The Niners had been rolling in the late part of their season, but in the finale, they were knocked off their high horse by Seattle. In the 13-7 loss to Seattle, Brock Purdy looked pedestrian, and Christian McCaffery was held to a season low of 23 rushing yards. Things will not get easier here in Philadelphia, as the Eagles are a top-five defense in the league.

The Eagles have had a roller coaster of a regular season. It ended in a very fitting way with Coach Sirianni deciding to sit his starters despite having a chance to secure the 2 seed. They lost to the Commanders 24-17, which is why they are the 3 seed in the NFC. The loss was their 4th loss in the final 7 games of the season. For a team looking to repeat their Super Bowl run from last year, they do not look like they are in a form to do so here. That said, the playoffs are essentially a new season, and the Eagles certainly have the weapons to make another deep run.
