The Los Angeles Dodgers eye their fourth straight win in Tuesday’s Game 2 with the San Diego Padres at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers have won three consecutive games and four of their last five games behind a more productive offense and better pitching from their starters. Shohei Ohtani made his much-awaited Dodgers debut as a pitcher, allowing one earned run in one inning pitched. It wasn’t a flashy mound appearance, but Ohtani still played a big part in the Dodgers’ 6-3 win over the Padres by driving two runs in the game.
The Padres have lost four of their last five games and seven of their last 10 games against their division rivals, the LA Dodgers. San Diego is scoring a decent 4.2 runs per game on a .242 batting average over the last five games. However, the Padres’ lethargic pitching remains the biggest hole on the team, posting a 5.10 ERA in the last 5 games.
