A team that very nearly went all the way last as an expansion side during the previous campaign will be in action on Saturday evening. The San Diego boys took Major League Soccer by storm last season, scoring goals for fun, finishing the regular season as the best ranked team in the Western Conference. They then made it to within just one game of MLS Cup Final, falling at the final hurdle by losing to a very strong Vancouver Whitecaps team. Can they go one better this season? 

Taking on the men who play their home soccer at Snapdragon Stadium will be a CF Montreal team that is looking to improve in 2026. Last season, the men from Montreal failed to make a splash, finishing the regular season in a disappointing 13th place. This time around, under new coach Marco Donadel, they'll be hoping to get closer to the postseason.
