It has now been over two months since San Diego last won an MLS fixture, but they have an excellent chance to get back to winning ways when they host mid-table Austin FC on Wednesday night.
After opening the campaign with three consecutive victories, San Diego have picked up just two points from their subsequent nine matches. However, there have been a few signs of a San Diego resurgence in the last two weeks, thanks to back-to-back draws against LAFC and the Sounders.
Austin have also produced solid results in recent weeks, picking up two wins and a draw from their last three games. Last time out, a late Christian Ramirez goal gave Austin a well-earned point at Minnesota, a result that moved them to within two points of the MLS Western Conference postseason positions.
