San Antonio made a statement in Game 1 of this series on Monday night, snatching a 1-0 series lead over the defending champions with a 122-115 2OT win. The Spurs used a balanced effort to overwhelm the Thunder and even did so without the services of De’Aaron Fox. San Antonio will now be looking to steal both games on the road, but at the very least, they have proven that they are likely to keep every game in this series close.
As for Oklahoma City, they already look to be in a must-win situation, as they cannot go down 0-2 with the series set to shift to San Antonio in Game 3. The Thunder struggled for most of Game 1, especially when defending Victor Wembanyama, who scored 41 points and grabbed 24 rebounds against them.
