The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (14-14, 7-10) will have a tough one on their hands tonight when they face the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines (21-6, 13-3) at the Criswell Center in Ann Arbor, MI. This Big Ten battle is scheduled to get underway at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can find coverage of the game via Peacock.
Rutgers gave Michigan a pretty good run for its money when these two teams played in New Jersey on Feb. 1. The Wolverines led by seven at the break, 32-25. But the Scarlet Knights put up a solid fight in the second, narrowing the Michigan lead to two points on several occasions. But every time they got close, the Wolverines defense would crack down as the offense would push the lead back out to five or six points. Michigan ended up winning 66-63. The Scarlet Knights come into this game on a two-game winning streak, while Michigan has won seven of its last eight games. As for the loss, it was at the hands of their hated rival— No. 14 Michigan State (75-62). Senior center Vladislav Goldin leads the Wolverines in scoring with 15.9 points per game this season. Rutgers is led by Dylan Harper with 19.4 ppg.

I don’t have a whole lot of faith in either team’s offense. Yes, Rutgers scored 85 and 95 points in their last two games, but they scored 57, 73, and 81 in the three prior. That makes it hard for me to think they’ll play well enough against Michigan in Ann Arbor to stay within the spread (9.5 points). Michigan’s offense should be much better than it was against Nebraska (49 points), but I’m not expecting a high-scoring game.
