With the French Open now a thing of the past, the focus switches to the grass-court season. This week, lots of ATP players are getting down to grass-court business in the Netherlands, where the Libema Open takes place near the city of s-Hertogenbosch. One of Thursday's more eye-catching matches sees Reilly Opelka take on Nicolas Jarry.
For the US competitor, the return of the grass-court season will be a blessing. The big-serving Opelka enjoyed himself at various grass venues last season, and he comes into this second-round match having made a pleasing start to life on the grass, winning three matches in the Netherlands so far. For the Chilean, who isn't exactly a grass-court specialist, a change of scenery may also be welcomed, as it was a massively disappointing clay-court season for Jarry, who continues to slip down the rankings in 2025. Having said that, he battled hard to beat the much higher-ranked Luciano Darderi last time out, which should at least give him the confidence to attack this match.
