San Jose Earthquakes travel to face Real Salt Lake looking to close the gap at the top of the MLS Western Conference. Vancouver Whitecaps are currently in first spot but the Quakes are just five points behind. A win here could also increase the gap between themselves and the playoff chasing pack. Real Salt Lake are one of those teams chasing, sitting in 11th spot in the Western Conference table. They're four points off a wild card place, but the Claret and Cobalt will still have hope of breaking into the top nine.

To do so, though, their form needs to drastically improve. They've lost five of their last six matches, an incredibly poor return. The Quakes are in better form, winning three and drawing three of their last six games.

For our prediction for this match, we're looking at a Moneyline bet. While Real Salt Lake's home form is reasonably good, they've won eight and drawn two of their 14 matches at home, they're in woeful form. Combine that with the good form of the Quakes, as well as the fact San Jose have the second-best away record in MLS this year, it's easy to see why we're picking the away win.
