On Wednesday, at the iconic tennis venue of Roland Garros, two players closely matched according to the ATP Rankings will come together as Quentin Halys takes on Miomir Kecmanovic. During the first round, the French player, who hasn't exactly been at his fittest or his best in recent weeks, profited from his opponent retiring after narrowly winning the first set. In contrast, Miomir Kecmanovic, came from two sets down to beat clay-court specialist Sebastian Baez, showing an abundance of fighting spirit. Can the Serbian now kick on and go further than he did last year? 

Kecmanovic may only be narrowly ranked above his opponent here, but he brings into this match extra fitness, while he's also shown a general level of clay-court play that is above what we've seen from Halys this season. An interesting encounter, sure, but don't be at all surprised if this goes the way of the Serb, who even as a strong early favorite, may be better placed to make the third round than the odds suggest.
