Zheng Qinwen of China will gun for a seat in the quarterfinal round at Queen’s Club against McCartney Kessler of the United at the 2025 HSBC Championship.
Two weeks removed from a quarterfinal stint at Roland Garros, Zheng will now focus on getting strong results on grass as she prepares for another Grand Slam campaign later this month at the Wimbledon Open. Ranked No.5 in the world, Zheng has racked up a 17-9 record in 2025. However, she has yet to make a significant run in any grass tournament she competed. As a matter of fact, China’s No.1 women’s singles player is only 3-8 on the surface.
Meanwhile, Kessler chalked up an impressive grass-court debut, beating Francesca Jones of Great Britain in straight sets, 6-2 6-4. Kessler, who is 5-3 on grass, connected 71 percent of her first serves and won 24 points off of these services. He also broke Jones 5 times and conceded 2 service breaks.
