PSV's Champions League hopes are hanging by a thread as they against a daunting Matchday Eight encounter with a Bayern Munich side that has already qualified for the last 16 of the competition.
PSV are currently 22nd in the standings and have the best goals difference of the eight sides locked together on eight points. However, given that a significant number of those other teams have much easier fixtures than PSV, it seems likely that the Dutch champions will need at least a point if they are to remain in the top 24 and qualify for the playoffs.
Three points for Bayern in Eindhoven could theoretically see them top the league, but given that scenario also requires leaders Arsenal to lose at home to Kairat, it seems almost certain that Vincent Kompany's side will remian in second place regardless of their result on Wednesday night.
