On Wednesday night, there’s more UEFA Champions League action, with two huge quarter-final ties taking place, one of which will be played on French shores. Playing in front of a home crowd, PSG will take on Liverpool.
Despite being in rather poor form all round, struggling domestically, the Reds managed to secure themselves a spot in the final eight of this prestigious continental competition, defeating Galatasaray over two legs, turning around a first-leg deficit by winning four goals to zero at home. For the hosts, there was never any doubt, with the UCL holders battering Chelsea both home and away during the previous round.
Given that they’re about to go up against a Liverpool team that has found it tough to keep things tight of late, the hosts should thrive offensively in this game, but don’t be surprised if they endure some difficult defensive moments themselves, which is what I’ll be betting on above all else.

PSG - Liverpool: Form Analysis
After demolishing Chelsea in the previous round, scoring no less than eight goals in the process, the Parisian giants have shifted through the gears to record back-to-back Ligue 1 wins, beating both Nice and Toulouse in convincing style, again scoring no shortage of goals. Clearly, Luis Enrique’s men are in fine offensive form, which won’t please the visitors who’ve been conceding lots of goals of late.

Liverpool fans would’ve been hoping to see their team kick on after hammering Galatasaray on home soil, but that hasn’t happened, with Arne Slot’s men first losing to Brighton in the Premier League, which saw them head into the international break winless in three league games. There was no happy return to action either, as Man City demolished the Red by four goals to zero in the FA Cup at the weekend.

PSG & Liverpool Squad Analysis
Bradley Barcola recently sustained an ankle injury, so he will miss out for the hosts, as will Fabian Ruiz, who was arguably the best PSG player in this competition a year ago. Otherwise, Luis Enrique is free to select his preferred starting XI, which will almost certainly include Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who scored and assisted four goals during the previous round. Joao Neves and Vitinha were on the bench at the weekend, though both should come back in from the outset.
Jeremie Frimpong didn’t start at the weekend, but may do here, while Alexis Mac Allister will definitely come back into the starting XI.
First-choice keeper Alisson is out for the Reds, as is Connor Bradley, though Arne Slot’s primary concerns are not of an injury nature. The Liverpool boss will likely be wondering what to do with his line-up following two very weak efforts. Our PSG vs Liverpool Prediction
Sure, the hosts are clearly the team in better form, and the visitors will need to improve on their last couple of efforts, but this is just the sort of game where Arne Slot's men can be at their best offensively. Against forward-pushing teams, the Reds can be very effective on the break, and I'm just not sure that's being reflected enough by the early odds.
Let's be honest, the hosts, as strong as they are offensively, also lack defensive solidity, conceding regular goals at home in this competition, so again, the odds for the visitors to score at least a couple of goals simply look too good to turn down.
Our PSG vs Liverpool Pick: Liverpool to Score Over 1.5 Goals.

PSG win the match
In recent weeks, PSG seems to have kicked into high gear. They are the clear favorites in this two-legged Champions League quarterfinal matchup against Liverpool! Especially since the Reds are having such a difficult season. They’ve just suffered a crushing defeat at Manchester City in the FA Cup quarterfinals (4-0). Recently, the team coached by Arne Slot has struggled on the road. It’s therefore hard to imagine them shining at the Parc des Princes.
