There's an MLS Western Conference showdown on Saturday as the Portland Timbers host Los Angeles FC at Providence Park. Both teams have experienced topsy turvy starts to the season and are currently in mid table positions. The Timbers are without a win in four games, but showed remarkable resilience to come from 3-0 down to earn a draw at Sporting Kansas City last time out. Meanwhile, LA come into the game following a hard fought 2-1 victory over the Galaxy last weekend. 

Portland have been the most entertaining team in the whole MLS during the early part of the season. 28 goals have been scored in their opening 7 games, including 11 in their last two. LA have not been quite as free flowing, but have still managed a healthy 11 goals in their seven games. Their most impressive result so far was a 5-0 thrashing of Nashville, featuring two goals apiece from Denis Bouanga and Eduard Atuesta.
