The 2027 Women’s World Cup qualifiers continue! This Friday, Poland and France will face off at the Polsat Plus Arena in Gdańsk for Matchday 5 of Group 2 in League A of the European zone. It will be difficult for the Polish team to climb out of last place. That’s why our prediction gives them very little chance. The team coached by Nina Patalon has earned just one point after its first four matches. They’ve also suffered three straight losses against France (4-1) and Ireland twice (2-3 and 1-0). Things look just as tough this weekend.
France no longer hold their fate in their own hands when it comes to direct qualification for the Women’s World Cup. After getting off to a perfect start with wins against Ireland (1-2) and Poland (4-1), they suffered a major setback in their two-leg series against the Netherlands. Defeated in Breda in the first leg (2-1), France then had to settle for a draw in front of their home fans (1-1). They now sit in second place in the group, one point behind the Dutch. To avoid having to go through the playoffs, Laurent Bonadei’s players will do everything they can to go undefeated in their final two matches, while hoping for a slip-up by their direct competitor.
