The Washington Nationals are coming in as a tempting +152 underdog against the Philadelphia Phillies in Sunday’s series finale at Nationals Park.

The Phillies suffered their fourth loss in five games following their recent loss to Washington. At 70-53, the Phillies are still five games ahead of their closest trailers, the 68-58 New York Mets, but they can no longer afford to prolong this slump because there are only a few weeks left in the regular season. Philadelphia has posted a 4.37 ERA in its last five games, which is significantly higher than its 3.71 ERA this season.

The Nats are out to take the series win over the Phillies on Sunday. Washington will deploy lefty Mitchell Parker to start against the team he blanked through 6.1 innings in a 5-1 win on March 30.
The Phillies have tapped Aaron Nola, who has delivered impressive numbers in his rehab following a rib and ankle injury that has sidelined him since May. But before the injury, Nola had posted two miserable mound appearances against the Guardians (4 runs in 5.0 innings) and the Cardinals (9 runs in 3.2 innings).
