The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers meet for Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series today at Madison Square Garden following a lopsided opening contest that left the visitors searching for answers. New York sent a resounding message to the rest of the league on May 4th, dismantling Philadelphia in a 137-98 rout that showcased the Knicks' terrifying depth and relentless energy. MSG was electric as the Knicks exploited every mismatch, particularly on the offensive glass and in transition.
For the 76ers, the loss was a wake-up call, highlighting a lack of defensive cohesion and an inability to match the Knicks' physicality. Philadelphia has been a resilient group throughout the 2025-26 season, but they are now facing a New York team that has lost only twice since the middle of April and appears to be peaking at the perfect moment. New York reached this stage by securing a 4-2 series victory over the Atlanta Hawks, punctuated by a massive 51-point win in the clincher on April 30th. Philadelphia advanced after a grueling seven-game battle with the Boston Celtics, remarkably overcoming a 3-1 series deficit by winning three straight elimination games to keep their season alive.

Our New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction
Jalen Brunson has been playing at an extraordinary level, erupting for 35 points in the series opener on 12-of-18 shooting while converting all eight of his free-throw attempts. He has consistently outperformed his projections lately, hitting his points total in six of his most recent nine outings. Karl-Anthony Towns has provided a perfect secondary option, contributing 17 points and six assists in Game 1 while stretching the Philadelphia defense. Mikal Bridges also added 17 points in that victory, benefiting from the gravity created by the Knicks' primary scorers.
For Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey remains the offensive engine; he led the team with 21 points in the opener and is fresh off a first-round series where he averaged 26.9 points and 6.6 assists. However, the health of Joel Embiid is a growing concern. After managing just 14 points on 3-of-11 shooting in Game 1, Embiid is listed as probable for tonight as he deals with a right ankle sprain. Maxey is also playing through a right finger tendon strain.
Given the current circumstances, New York clearly possesses the upper hand. The Knicks are playing with incredible momentum, having won their last three postseason games by an average margin of 40 points. Philadelphia's fatigue is evident following their seven-game war with Boston, and Embiid's mounting physical limitations make it difficult for the 76ers to protect the rim or match New York's intensity on the boards. Unless Philadelphia can find a way to slow the game down and minimize turnovers, the Knicks' depth and superior physical condition should allow them to take a commanding two-game lead in the series. Our prediction for New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Over 213.5 points.
