Pat Sabatini (25-5-0) and William Gomis (15-3-0) will meet in the UFC Featherweight division on Saturday night at Prudential Center. Sabatini, who joined the franchise in April 2021, has quickly established himself as one of the most feared men in the division. The American has lost only twice in the UFC, with his latest defeat coming against Diego Lopes at UFC 295. At the moment, Sabatini is on a three-fight winning streak and will be keen to make it four this weekend.
William Gomis is also a newcomer with a wealth of experience in the division. The Frenchman joined the franchise in September 2022, winning his first fight against Jarno Errens via majority decision. He went on to get three more wins before Hyder Amil defeated him in March last year via split decision. However, Gomis picked himself up quickly to defeat Robert Ruchala via decision in September. He’s clearly not the one to dwell on losses for too long.

He must watch out for the strike-heavy Frenchman, who likes to attack at jab or kick distance. Sabatini will likely counter that with his wrestling skills, averaging 4.48 takedowns per 15 minutes with a 50% success rate. Still, we don’t expect him to take this fight to the mat, thanks to Gomis’ excellent takedown defense. The “Jaguar” averages a takedown defense rate of 72%. Overall, this could be a boring and tactical bout, with Sabatini grinding out a decision win.
