With the group stages now a thing of the past, it's time for the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter finals, which begin on Saturday, when Panama and Honduras will clash at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. One of these two teams will be the first to lay down a marker and reach the final four, but which team will it be?
On the one hand, we have the Panamaniacs, who've looked like a very sturdy unit at the Gold Cup, winning three out of three during the group stage, scoring ten goals and conceding three in the process. Of course, their job gets a little harder here, while Thomas Christiansen's men have only won one of their last six games against Honduras. The Hondurans didn't quite sail through the group-stage waters quite like Saturday's opponents, losing their first game against the Canadians in quite embarrassing fashion. They have since bounce backed, though, so don't be too surprised if Reinaldo Rueda's men get competitive here.

Panama opened the group stage with a dominant 5–2 win over Guadeloupe, with goals from Martínez (twice), Guerrero, and Rodríguez. In their second match, they edged past El Salvador 1–0 thanks to another goal from Rodríguez. Then, in the third game, they rolled past Jamaica with a convincing 4–1 victory.
Despite having one of the tournament’s most explosive attacks, Panama’s defense has shown some vulnerability, conceding two goals over their last two games.
Honduras, meanwhile, had a rough start, getting thrashed 6–0 by Canada in their opener. But they bounced back with a 2–0 win over El Salvador, with goals from Quioto and Ramírez. In their third group game, they beat Curaçao 2–1 behind goals from Álvarez and Palma.
