The Oregon Ducks will begin their Big 10 era against a familiar foe on Saturday, taking on former fellow Pac-10 member, the UCLA Bruins, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel has been terrific as the team’s primary orchestrator on offense, already covering 914 yards with six touchdowns and a quarterback rating of 85.1. Oregon ranks in the top 20 with 309.7 passing yards per game while placing 33rd with 36.7 points per contest. UCLA fell to their second straight loss after succumbing to LSU’s ferocious second-half rally, 34-17. Quarterback Ethan Garbes covered 281 yards with two touchdowns and one interception but the Bruins could not sustain their strong showing in the first half, allowing LSU to step on the gas pedal and pull away in the second half.
