The Texas Longhorns will try to bounce back from last week’s disappointing loss to Florida when they face the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners in the latest edition of the Red River Rivalry. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX.

The Arch Manning Era is certainly not living up to the hype, but to be fair, the expectations were sky high simply because of his last name. Losing to Ohio State 14-7 was unfortunate, but at least they were competitive against the eventual No. 1 team in the country. But the results have been lackluster against schools they should have blown out of the water, such as 27-10 vs. UTEP. Neither side of the ball looked good against the Gators; Manning couldn’t get the offense on track, and the defense helped make DJ Langway look like a Heisman hopeful. As for the Sooners, quarterback John Mateer has turned into a Heisman hopeful. He has had to miss time with a hand injury, but his status has been upgraded to probable for Saturday’s game.  The Sooner defense has been absolutely suffocating this season. Heading into this game, it is ranked No. 1 in total defense, No. 5 against the run, No. 2 against the pass, and No. 2 in scoring.
