The reigning NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, are close to reaching the NBA Finals once again, where the Knicks await. Currently, the team led by reigning MVP Gilgeous-Alexander and coached by Mark Daigneault leads the series 3-2 against the Spurs, but Game 6 will be played at Frost Bank Arena, where the Spurs won the last game 103-82.
Some have dubbed the Western Conference Finals series a battle for the future of the NBA, as San Antonio boasts the league's newest star, Wembanyama, while the Thunder are a dynamic, unique, and electrifying team that has already won a championship.
Jarred McCain was the key player in Game 5. The Thunder called him up to replace the injured Williams and Mitchell, and he responded with 20 points in his first playoff start. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander himself praised his 22-year-old teammate's performance and highlighted his team's most evident strength, saying they play "spread-out basketball" where anyone can be a star.
These Spurs clearly depend on the incredibly talented Wembanyama. It's obvious he didn't have a brilliant day on Tuesday, shooting 4 of 15 from the field in the loss.

Our San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction
The Spurs have already lost two straight games in this series, but avoiding that fate on Thursday is crucial to avoid elimination. Meanwhile, only one of the five games in this series resulted in a total game for the Thunder. The other four were high-scoring games, and that might still be the winning bet.
Fox detailed one of the Spurs' mistakes in Game 5: his and his teammates' inability to set quality screens. This flaw was evident in how they repeatedly took shots under pressure and defense. If San Antonio can connect again and set effective screens, we could have another high-scoring, back-and-forth game.
Our prediction for Spurs vs Thunder is: Over 217.5.
