The Oakland Athletics eye their fourth win in five games in Wednesday’s Game 2 against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.
The Athletics bumped up their record to 57-70 following a 6-3 win over the Twins on Tuesday. The A’s have won three of their last four games, and they have done it by producing terrific numbers behind the plate and putting up decent numbers on the mound. Over their last five assignments, the Athletics have averaged 6.1 runs per game on a 2.70 BA while sporting a 4.50 ERA, which is slightly better than their 4.88 ERA this season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday’s result dealt the Twins their fourth loss in five games. Minnesota is 58-67 in the season, fourth in the AL Central. The Twins have commanded a 3.26 ERA in their last five games, but could only win one game in this stretch because of their anemic offense that has only generated 3.7 runs per game on a .197 batting average in this spell.
