Minnesota and Oakland meet again Friday night after beginning their weekend series on the penultimate day of the workweek. At just 23 years old, Simeon Woods Richardson gets the nod for the Twin Cities in a favorable home affair against the bottom-dwelling Athletics. Woods Richardson was initially optioned to Triple-A side St. Paul to begin the 2024 season, but has since made his way back to the major leagues where he is 2-1 with a 3.67 ERA in his career. Minnesota is a very good team and their record may not do them justice. They are 37-32 on the season with an offense that ranks in the top 10 in many statistical categories, and could very well find itself playing into mid-October. Things are finally looking up for this Twins team after taking a big dip from division titles in 2019 and 2020 to falling all the way to the bottom of the pack.
