American League West rivals, the Texas Rangers and the Seattle Mariners, are set to begin a new series on Friday at Globe Life Field.
The Rangers are 1-4 in their last five games, losing thrice to the Oakland Athletics this week. Other than their 15-run explosion in Game 2, Texas batted poorly behind the plate in the other three games. This includes a 0-3 loss in the series finale vs the Oakland Athletics on Thursday.
The Mariners, on the other hand, have captured four wins in a row, all thanks to a more productive batting corps. In their last five assignments, Seattle has batted 8.6 runs per game on a staggering .299 batting average. The Mariners occupy the No.1 spot in the AL West with a 18-12 record, two games of their closest trailer, the 16-14 Astros, and three games ahead of the Rangers.
