The No. 1 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (23-2, 14-0) will play on the road tonight for the first time, ascending to the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll. Their opponent? They’ll face the Miami Hurricanes (13-12, 3-11) at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, FL. This ACC matchup will get underway at 7 p.m. ET; fans can find coverage via ACC Extra.
As could be expected, Notre Dame is a heavy favorite against the Hurricanes at -24.5 points. They’ve won 18 in a row with their last loss, coming back on Nov. 30 of last year vs. Utah. Since then, they’ve recorded wins over No. 4 Texas, No. 2 UConn, No. 17 North Carolina, No. 17 Georgia Tech, and more recently, No. 21 California and No. 11 Duke. They outscored Cal 91-52 and Duke 64-49. So not only are they dominating on the offensive end, but they are playing just as well on the defensive end of the court. As for Miami, the season has gone in a dramatically different direction for the Hurricanes than it has for Notre Dame. After getting the season off to a nice 11-1 start, the team has struggled since getting into conference play, dropping seven in a row before finally beating SMU and Virginia. But they followed those wins with four more losses, all against ranked teams.

Our Notre Dame Fighting I. vs Miami Hurricanes Prediction
There is no reason to think that Miami has even a remote chance of pulling off the upset of the season in this game. They aren’t going to win, but that doesn’t mean that Notre Dame will cover that massive 24.5-point spread. Miami gave No. 10 NC State a good fight on Feb.13, only to lose by two. The ‘Canes gave No. 23 Florida State a good fight in their last game, losing a one-point lead in the final seconds of the game. But Notre Dame is crushing opponents right now, winning three of their last four by 30+ points. As for the outlier, it was their last game, a 15-point win over No. 11 Duke.
Notre Dame has covered this spread against better teams, but I’m going with the UNDER.
