The No. 21 North Carolina Tar Heels (21-5, 10-3 ACC) will take on the No. 11 Duke Blue Devils (18-6, 13-0 ACC) today in an ACC clash between two ranked teams. Fans can follow the action for what will undoubtedly be an exciting contest at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, NC, when the game gets underway at 1 p.m. EST on ABC.
North Carolina had some early struggles when ACC play got underway, losing three of its first five conference games, including two in a row to Stanford (77-71 OT) and Notre Dame (73-50). But since the loss to the Fighting Irish, they’ve been on a roll, winning their last eight games. They last played on Thursday when they hosted the SMU Mustangs, whom they promptly crushed 94-42. As for Duke, the Blue Devils opened the season with a 58-52 loss to Baylor and probably had fans concerned after a 3-6 start to the season (three of the four losses were to top-five teams). But since the loss to LSU on Dec. 4, 93-77, they’ve been on a roll, winning 15 in a row, including a 13-game stretch in conference play.
This will be the first of two games between these two teams down the stretch as they will close out the regular season against each other on March 1 in Chapel Hill.
