The Sox enter the series having brought a bit of momentum along, specifically after great road performances in the last several outings.

Having won 10 of their last 13 away games has highlighted their grit, and splitting two of three in Oakland was a reminder that, yes, they are able to take care of business against intra-divisional teams that are supposed to be in their rearview. Their pitching has tightened up, especially from younger arms stepping into bigger roles, while the lineup has been quick to pounce on mistakes, often jumping ahead early in games.
