With the NL East title virtually secured, the Philadelphia Phillies will now try to inflict the coup de grâce on the New York Mets in Thursday’s series finale at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies have padded their lead on the second-place Mets (76-70) to 10 games, with a little over two weeks left in the regular-season schedule.
The Mets will enter the series finale as the road underdogs (+113), having lost their last five assignments – including the past three games to the Phillies. New York has gone through a difficult five-game spell, posting a 5.14 ERA and averaging 2.6 runs per game. With a 76-70 record, not only did the Mets lose their shot at the NL East title, but their recent losing woes have put them in a precarious position in the wild card race.
