The Phillies-Mets series continues to move in the same direction it's been all year, with the home team usually winning. The Mets swept the Phillies in three games in Queens, but the Phillies are getting even at Citizens Bank Park, beating them 1-0 on Monday, 9-3 on Tuesday, and starting as -180 favorites to win on Wednesday.

More than the hitting, it's the starting pitching that has been weakening for the Mets. After McLean's solid performance in Monday's loss, Manaea didn't have a standout performance on Tuesday, allowing two home runs and four runs. With this, the Mets' starting pitching ERA in the last 10 games rose to 6.80.
On the Mets' favorable side, few would dare to say that Juan Soto, the highest-paid player in MLB, had a bad season with the Mets. Even with his slow start, the Dominican became the fifth player in Mets history to have a 30-30 season.
