The New York Mets will try to extend their winning streak to three games in Tuesday’s Game 2 series versus the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.
The Mets have won three of their last four games, including back-to-back defensive masterclasses against the Oakland Athletics 8-0 and the Twins 5-1. New York is looking like a legitimate World Series contender in April because of their outstanding pitching. The Mets’ pitching staff collectively throw a 2.22 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with 151 strikeouts this season.
The Twins have lost four of their last five games to keep them at the cellar of the American League Central with a 5-12 record. Minnesota is pitching a solid 3.86 ERA but they are awful at the plate, batting .206 with 56 runs so far.
