The youthful Washington Mystics will be seeking a statement win when they host New York Liberty at CareFirst Arena on Sunday evening. The Mystics started the season brightly with a 68-65 road win over newcomers Toronto Tempo on Friday night. New York Liberty, on the other side of the court, continued where they left off last season with a commanding 106-75 win at home over Connecticut Sun. The 2024 champions managed to retain their core of Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and Sabrina Ionescu. Their new head coach, Chris DeMarco, also bolstered his side with the acquisition of star forward Satou Sabally.
